Xunta, CEP and the Port of Vigo launch two programmes to improve the logistics capabilities of companies in Galicia and Northern Portugal.

- The call will be open until 31 January 2021 and will benefit 30 SMEs in Galicia and Northern Portugal.
- The "Support Logistics" and "Smart Logistics" programmes will focus on the improvement of internal logistics and the digitisation of logistics processes.
An online information day will be held on 26 January.
- The CoLogistics Project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Cooperation Programme Interreg V A Spain - Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020.

Vigo, 21 January 2022.

The past year has further highlighted the importance of the logistics function in business activity. Companies face daily challenges such as improving traceability, last mile logistics, omni-channeling, sustainability of shipments, training of digital talent or automation.

To respond to these and other challenges, the Xunta, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Pontevedra (CEP) and the Port of Vigo, partners of the POCTEP CoLogistics project, offer companies a call for 30 SMEs in Galicia and Northern Portugal to benefit from the "Support Logistics" and "Smart Logistics" programmes.

The "Logistics Support" is proposed as a service in three main areas of improvement:

- Organisation and improvement of internal logistics processes,
- Optimisation of the supply chain, and
- Logistics challenges of the company.

After selecting one of these areas to work on, each SME will be helped to design a Competitive Improvement Plan (CIP) whose main objective is to detect the company's weak points or bottlenecks in logistics and propose solutions to optimise its operation.

Smart Logistics" focuses on addressing challenges such as sensorisation, localisation of goods or demand prediction, as well as the connection between the different stages of supply chains and new technologies, among others. These are the challenges faced by logistics-related Industry 4.0 companies.

Both services - aimed at improving the competitiveness of companies and at promoting internationalisation and increasing the presence abroad of the productive fabric of the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion - will work through three phases:

Phase - 1: A preliminary analysis of the current situation of the company's logistics and organisation, and areas for improvement.
Phase - 2: The definition of the Competitive Improvement Plan (Logistic Support) or Technological Improvement Plan (Smart Logistics) with the proposed solutions, details of the necessary investment and timetable for its implementation.
Phase - 3: Finally, the preparation of a training report for internal talent and immediate action measures to improve logistics performance and reduce the environmental impact of logistics activities.

After the call for applications and selection of the beneficiary SMEs, the services will be carried out from 15 February in a face-to-face format, unless the health situation caused by Covid-19 determines the need to carry them out remotely. An expert team will accompany each company during this process of improvement through personalised advice.

The services can be requested until 31/01/22 at the following link, where you can also consult the rules of participation: https://css-cologistics-project.eu

In addition, an information day will be held on 26 January, information on which can be found on the project website (https://css-cologistics-project.eu/a-donde-va-a-llegar-tu-negocio-el-proximo-ano/), to explain both services and clarify any doubts that may arise.
